NEW POLL: BISHOP STRONGEST CANDIDATE IN NOVEMBER

New polling data released this week by Mitchell Research and Communications, Inc. shows that Mike Bishop holds a strong lead over his opponent in the race for Attorney General amongst likely GOP Primary Voters. Bishop leads by a 16 point margin, 45%-29%.

"It certainly paints a strong picture of who the GOP base will rally behind in November," said Bishop. "Once they know the candidates, it is clear who shares has the best chance against the Democratic nominee in November. "

"When GOP primary voters hear positive information about both candidates, they favor Mike Bishop's background over Bill Schuette's. Although the nominee will be selected after the upcoming Primary Election at the GOP convention in mid-August, the results indicate that convention delegates may be swayed by Bishop's efforts as majority leader to balance the state budget without raising taxes," Steve Mitchell, president of Mitchell Research & Communications, Inc. said.

Delegates to the Republican State Convention will select the Republican nominee for Attorney General on August 28. Leading up to that date, Mike Bishop and his team continue to travel across Michigan, speaking with delegates and letting them know why he remains the candidate that has the best chance to win in November.
